Luis needed to get away desperately and found trouble standing up to certain people who wronged him. Aware of the struggles he was going through, Hollie gifted Luis her old Medicine totem of a Bat. Skeptical at first, Luis soon learnt of the spirit that promised to guide him- a giant demon bat spirit who was a direct descendant of the legendary Mayan God, Camazotz. The spirit introduced himself as Mariquay (pronounced Mark-eye) and gifted Luis another life- at the price of the current life he had (quite literally)
